NoteCards with Detachable BookMark

Now with full color Heavenly Envelopes! We have considered calling these cards “Catechism Cards”, as they say so much about our Faith in word and picture. They are Blank on the inside so you can say it your way, but the front, back and bookmark are chock full of Saintly quotations, thoughts and prayers. The picture doesn’t stop on the front either, we can’t restrain ourselves, and quite often the back could be the front! Most of our cards can be used for any occasion, we’ve purposely not said “Happy Birthday” or “Happy Mother’s Day”... which would limit their use for those days alone. One card at a time, perhaps we can change the sentiments of the world! Each Card is printed on quality card stock and is approximately 4¼”x 5¼”. ENVELOPE INCLUDED WITH EACH CARD. MIX & MATCH! 9929.jpg 9929 NoteCard St. Augustine
NC9929
I am always amazed when I read St. Augustine how contemporary his comments are! He might have lived centuries ago, but his problems are still our problems, aren't they? Back of card includes a brief bio of this saint, and some of his words. Such as: "He knows how to live well who knows how to pray well." and "God bestows more consideration on the purity of intention with which our actions are performed, than the actions themselves." and "He who faithfully prays to God for the necessaries of this life, is both mercifully heard and mercifully not heard. For the physician knows better than the sick man what is good for the disease."

Patron of all Catholic Education, how we need to encourage our students and teachers to go to him for their inspiration. Back of card includes a brief bio of this brilliant saint, along with where he himself said he gleaned most of his learning. From books and study? No. It was from prayer before our Crucified Lord. Let us learn from him and find solutions to all of life's questions and sorrows there. Amen!

9931.jpg 9931 NoteCard Hail Mary
NC9931
Great card for Mother's Day, Christenings, Baptisms, Congratulations, or just to spread the message of how wonderful is the gift of Life! Back of card reads: What an extraordinary thing is motherhood! The angels themselves have not been blessed with such a grace! Imagine! To share in God’s creation, bringing a child into this world, entirely unique, unlike any other child born before, or any child to be born in the future! Will this child be a Pope that will bring Truth and Peace and Unity to our warring world? Or perhaps a Doctor that will find the cure for cancer and bring relief to millions? Or maybe this child will just be a simple carpenter, another St. Joseph perhaps? How wonderful it is to share in God’s creation and plans for the future! Yet we live in a world that has forgotten this. How many little ones will never see the light of day, because they are viewed not as a miracle, but as an inconvenience? How many children are replaced today by a career? Let us pray for these unborn children, and for their mothers. Let us pray for motherhood to once again be respected as one of the most honorable “careers” a woman can have. A career that could influence generations to come! Thank God for Mothers!

9932.jpg 9932 NoteCard O.L. Guadalupe
NC9932
Our Lady is the Patroness of the Americas and the Unborn, and so this is the perfect card to spread the pro-life message or devotion to Our Lady and Her powerful intercession. Also good for the skeptics in our society, as this miracle is fully supported by science. Back of card reads: In the Americas, many centuries ago, the Aztecs performed between 20,000 and 50,000 human sacrifices a year. The Mexican historian Ixtlilxochitl estimated that one out of every five children in Mexico were killed. During the dedication of a new serpent temple in Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) more than 80,000 captives were sacrificed in four days! Here are a few more remarkable facts concerning the Miraculous Image: It maintains a constant human temperature of 98.6 degrees. Our Lady wears 46 stars of 14 constellations and they are placed exactly as they were in the sky on December 9, 1531. + Within Our Lady’s eye is the reflection of a man fitting the description of Juan Diego. Examinations have been made and authenticated by many opthamologists. + We now know the image of Our Lady is with Child, and dual heartbeats have been recorded in some Missionary images of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

9933.jpg 9933 NoteCard O.L. of Perpetual Help
NC9933
Back of Card reads: Icons are painted with great care... everything has meaning. The gold background of the icon represents the Kingdom of God. The Greek letters are abbreviations for the words “Jesus, Mother of God, Archangel Michael, Archangel Gabriel”. The Archangels are holding the instruments of the future Passion and offering them to the Christ Child. Jesus is fearful, and runs immediately into the protective arms of His Mother. In His haste He nearly loses one of His sandals! Let us follow in Our Saviour’s footsteps... and before we take up our cross to follow Him, seek refuge first in Our Lady’s arms. There is a tradition that the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was originally painted by St. Luke, and that Our Lady gave it her blessing with the promise "My grace will accompany this icon." Though we don’t know for certain it’s origin, we do know the icon has been here since the 13th century. Pope Innocent III stated in 1207 that it seemed Our Lady’s soul had entered the icon, so beautiful and miraculous was it. The painting at some point was stolen by a merchant who had heard of the miracles surrounding it. He traveled with it to Rome, where he suddenly became ill, and confided his crime to the Roman caring for him. He asked this man to place the icon in a Church so Our Lady could once again help the people. However, after his death, the Roman kept the picture for his wife, hanging it in her bedroom. Our Lady appeared several times to this family, asking them to place the icon in St. Matthews, a small, humble, Church in Rome. They finally complied, and the icon was again properly honored for a time, until the French invaded Rome and the icon was lost and abandoned during the war. It was rediscovered 75 years later by the Redemptorists, and upon Pope Pius IX’s request, they made it their mission to make Our Lady of Perpetual Help known and loved throughout the world.

9934.jpg 9934 NoteCard St. Michael
NC9934
Back of Card contains this brief bio: Michael means “Who is like God?!” According to Tradition, this was the holy angel’s response to Lucifer, the most splendid of the angels. Lucifer, on hearing of God’s plan to create man out of dust; that a woman called Mary was to occupy a higher place in heaven than the angels... that God was going to be born of this Virgin and assume our lowly nature... All of this was too much for Lucifer and his pride. He could not accept the humility of God, and losing sight of the origin of his angelic gifts, he deemed himself better than God! He rebelled against his Maker “I will not serve! I will rule!” Outraged at his audacity, St. Michael and the holy angels fought Lucifer and his band of unholy angels, casting them into hell. St. Michael, defend us! Also included is the FULL UNABBREVIATED St. Michaels Prayer written by Pope Leo, who foresaw the troubles of our time, and wrote an exorcism to protect us from them. Incredible full length prayer is MUCH more thorough on what these problems are, than the current St. Michael's Prayer most of us are familiar with.

9935.jpg 9935 NoteCard: St. Monica
NC9935
Let us encourage all the mothers we know who grieve over the misdeeds of their family, to take heart and apply themselves as St. Monica did, and ask for her assistance! Such prayerful mothers can change the course of history! The back reads: St. Monica was married by arrangement to a pagan official in North Africa, who was much older than she, and although generous, was also violent tempered. His mother lived with them and was equally difficult, which proved a constant challenge to St. Monica. She had three children; Augustine, Navigius, and Perpetua. Through her patience and prayers, she was able to convert her husband and his mother to the Catholic faith in 370. He died a year later. Perpetua and Navigius entered the religious Life. St. Augustine was much more difficult, as she had to pray for him for 17 years, begging the prayers of priests who, for a while, tried to avoid her because of her persistence at this seemingly hopeless endeavor. One priest did console her by saying, "it is not possible that the son of so many tears should perish." This thought, coupled with a vision that she had received strengthened her. St. Augustine was baptized by St. Ambrose in 387. St. Monica died later that same year, on the way back to Africa from Rome in the Italian town of Ostia.

9936.jpg 9936 NoteCard: St. Peter
NC9936
Can you imagine how difficult it must be for St. Peter to watch his ship tossing to and fro as it is today? He is only waiting for us to ask for his expert guidance! So many of us are willing to criticize our Pope and Pastors, but it would be so much better if we prayed for them instead. With this card, let us encourage all we know to do this... to go to St. Peter and ask for his steadying hand. This card is also encouraging for those Catholics, who amidst the confusion and scandalous behavior of our clergy, have jumped ship, abandoning Peter because of the bad example of Judas. Let us encourage all to remember there have always been bad grapes in the vineyard, but Our Lord has promised to always remain with His Church, founded on the rock of Peter. Every pope from the time of St. Peter to the Pope JPII is listed on the back of this card... Only the Catholic Church can prove she has existed from that time to this, despite the storms! Do not lose faith!

Back of Card: A True Story Related on the Feast of the Nativity, 1925 A young lady, while making a retreat at a convent, was permitted by the Sister Sacristan to arrange the flowers on the altar. One day, a friend sent a great quantity of lilies-of-the-valley. Miss X arranged them and placed them on the tabernacle and humbly offered these lovely flowers to the Sacred Heart. The following day during her visit to the Blessed Sacrament, after admiring God’s beautiful flowers, she wished she had some others to present to Him and wondered what kind He would like “today”, when an interior voice distinctly said “Forget-Me-not”. The next day when she made her visit, she said: “Dear Jesus, what kind of flowers would you like today?” Again the little interior voice replied: “Your prayers will be all kinds of flowers, and I will gather the fairest and sweetest.” This Christmas, let us offer Our Dear Infant Saviour such a bouquet! Back of Card: AXE TO THE ROOT In the old days you had no faults. Everyone else had lots. “So and so is so selfish,” “so uncharitable,” “so thoughtless.” The better you become, the more good you see in others. God did not think four thousand years too long a time in which to prepare the world for the coming of His Son. St. John the Baptist says, “The axe is put to the root”. Let us put the axe to the root of those faults which keep us from our Lord. It is not the reading of pious books, or the saying of long prayers, or science, or knowledge which introduces the Child Jesus into our hearts. It is the love, it is the longing for Him to be there, that brings Him. It is the real effort that it costs us to put the axe to the root. We know what He loves, we know what He dislikes. If you want Him, you must not be afraid to pay the price. Let us ask our Lord what faults we are to try to get rid of by way of preparation to receiving Him into our hearts.
