In August 2005, we told you to keep an eye out for our own line of books, and here they are. Although not the ones we had in mind at that time, but because we think they are so important, we put them at the head of the line! Dr. Richmond is a truly Catholic psychologist, and his insights into the many ills that plague us, both physically and spiritually, will astound you. All of his material is available for free on his website, though a small donation is kindly appreciated and needed.

Visit Dr. Richmond now.

However, after reading online for hours and finding the computer glare a pain, I asked him for books. Finding he had no books as he hadn't the budget to print them (Imagine that! A poor doctor! Right off the bat I had to correct my naturally judgemental self, that thought all doctors drove Mercedes Benz and lived in ocean front mansions) we agreed I would publish them. So here we are! More will soon be on the way. We've purposely made them extremely affordable as this work is mostly an effort to promote spiritual health and is a work done for love of God and neighbor.

Don’t think of yourself as an angry person? If you are constantly depressed, or exhausted, or just wondering “What is wrong with me? How come I am not happy?” If you find yourself a peaceable person 99% of the time, but an out of control tornado that last percent, then this book is still for you, as these are all signs of repressed anger which we are entirely unaware of. I know, because I speak from experience!

We all experience feelings of frustration when someone or something injures us, insults us, obstructs us, or hurts us in some other emotional, physical, or material way. Most of us respond to that feeling of frustration by desiring the satisfaction of forcing the “other” to suffer as we have suffered. This satisfaction might feel good in the moment, but ultimately it hardens our hearts and closes them off to others. We do have another option, though. When we are hurt, we can seek healing, rather than satisfaction. We can remember that when Christ’s heart was pierced He did not close it off—He opened it even more, and healing blood and water gushed forth as a fount of mercy for us. Healing, you see, is simply our return to God in humility and obedience. There is no healing for our brokenness except in the broken bread of the Eucharist. There is no healing except through him who accepted all pain, quietly, peacefully, without grumbling or murmuring—for our sake. There is no healing except in forgiveness.
